Why Are Travel Vaccinations Important?

Travel vaccinations are important because they help reduce your risk of catching serious infections while abroad and can protect both you and the people around you.

Some illnesses that are uncommon in the UK are more common in other parts of the world, and vaccination can provide important protection and build up immunity in your body before you travel.

Do You Offer Vaccinations For Babies, Children and Adults?

Yes, we offer vaccinations for all ages and purposes, whether it is tetanus and boosters for babies and children or flu vaccinations for adults.

Do You Have All Vaccinations in Stock?

We have most vaccinations in stock but recommend calling us before on 01923 850 999 since some travel vaccines might be more specific and require multiple doses.

How Much Do Private Flu and Travel Vaccinations Cost?

The cost of private flu and travel vaccinations can vary depending on the type of vaccine required, the number of doses needed, and the provider you choose. Generally, private flu vaccinations are often around £15–£30, while travel vaccinations can range from £30–£100+ per vaccine depending on the illness being prevented.

You will need to speak to our team to find out the exact price and it may be worth asking before your appointment.

FAQs

Do vaccinations hurt?
Patients may experience some discomfort after a vaccine and may experience some bruising or soreness on their arms. We will be able to offer sound advice if you are experiencing any discomfort after receiving a vaccine.
Can you help if I am nervous about injections?
Yes, The Good Practice offers a very welcoming and calming environment - and we will do everything possible to make you feel calm and at ease during your vaccinations.
Do you offer private vaccinations only?
Yes, we are a private GP practice offering private vaccinations, not available on the NHS.
Can I get my vaccinations covered on the NHS?
No, we do not offer vaccinations for patients on the NHS.
Do I need to bring my vaccination history with me?
Yes, we require you to bring any notes or information you have of your vaccination history.
How soon before my travels should I get vaccinations?
It is recommended to arrange your travel vaccination appointment at least 6–8 weeks before you travel. This gives your body enough time to build protection and allows time for any vaccines that require multiple doses to be completed.

However, it is still worth speaking to our team even if your travel date is approaching, as some vaccinations can still provide protection when given closer to your departure date. Our team can assess your travel plans, destination, and health needs to advise which vaccines are recommended and when you should have them.
Can I get all my travel vaccinations in one go?
Not necessarily, some travel vaccinations might be more specific and require multiple doses on multiple visits. We can schedule your vaccinations according to the recommended timeframes.
How am I likely to feel after a vaccination?
Some people feel no symptoms at all after a vaccination, but some may experience sore arms, bruising and feels of fatigue, rashes or fever. In this instance, we encourage you to get in touch so we can help you manage these symptoms and feel better.
