Membership terms
Overview of Membership
The Good Practice offers a membership programme designed to provide patients with enhanced access to services, preferential pricing, and continuity of care. Membership is a contractual arrangement between the patient and the Practice and is subject to these Terms and the current Membership Benefits Schedule.
Membership does not constitute insurance, nor does it replace the need for standard consultation fees unless explicitly stated in the Membership Benefits Schedule.
Eligibility and Acceptance
Membership is available to individuals who:
• are registered patients of The Good Practice
• provide accurate and complete registration information
• agree to these Terms and Conditions
• pay the applicable membership fee
The Practice reserves the absolute discretion to:
• accept or decline any application
• request further information prior to acceptance
• impose reasonable conditions on membership where clinically appropriate
Membership is non-transferable and applies only to the named individual(s).
Membership Fees and Payment
Membership fees are payable by:
• Annual payment (in advance)
By enrolling, you authorise The Good Practice to collect recurring payments using your nominated payment method.
Failure to maintain valid payment details may result in:
• suspension of membership benefits
• cancellation of membership
The Practice reserves the right to:
• review and amend membership fees periodically
• provide at least 30 days’ notice of any fee changes
Auto-Renewal
All memberships renew automatically at the end of the billing period unless cancelled in accordance with these Terms.
• Renewal reminders will be sent 7 day prior to the renewal date
• It is the patient’s responsibility to ensure contact details are up to date
• Failure to receive a reminder does not invalidate renewal
Membership Benefits
Membership benefits are defined in the Membership Benefits Schedule and may include:
• discounted or included GP consultations
• priority or same-day appointment access
• extended appointment durations
• reduced administrative fees
• access to additional services or health planning
Benefits:
• apply only while membership is active
• have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash
• cannot be carried forward beyond the membership period unless explicitly stated
The Practice reserves the right to amend benefits with a minimum of 30 days’ notice.
Fair Use Policy
Membership is intended to support reasonable and appropriate clinical use.
The Practice operates a fair use policy to ensure safe and equitable access for all patients.
Family and Household Memberships
Where membership is offered for multiple individuals:
• all members must reside at the same address unless otherwise agreed
• proof of address may be required (e.g. utility bill, bank statement within 3 months)
• each individual will have their own clinical record
The Practice reserves the right to reassess eligibility at renewal.
Cooling-Off Period
You have the right to cancel membership within 14 calendar days of:
• initial enrolment, or
• renewal
During this period:
• a full refund will be issued
• less the cost of any services used, calculated at the standard (non-member) rate
This ensures patients do not gain financial advantage from short-term use of membership benefits.
Cancellation by the Patient
After Cooling-Off Period
Membership may be cancelled at any time by providing written notice.
• For monthly memberships: cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle
• For annual memberships: no pro-rata refunds will be issued for unused time
Notice Requirements
• A minimum of 48 hours’ notice prior to the next billing date is required
• Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing (email or post)
Suspension of Membership
The Practice may suspend membership (temporarily restrict benefits) where:
• payment fails or is overdue
• there is suspected misuse of membership
• there are concerns regarding patient behaviour or safety
During suspension:
• benefits will not be accessible
• standard fees will apply
Termination by The Good Practice
The Practice reserves the right to terminate membership with immediate effect in cases of:
• abusive, aggressive, or inappropriate behaviour
• fraud, misrepresentation, or misuse of services
• breach of these Terms
• persistent non-payment
• conduct that compromises staff safety or service delivery
Where termination is not due to misconduct, a pro-rata refund for unused membership time may be issued at the Practice’s discretion.
Effect of Cancellation or Termination
Upon cancellation or termination:
• all membership benefits cease immediately or at the end of the billing period (depending on cancellation type)
• future appointments will be charged at standard rates
• any outstanding balances remain payable
Changes to Membership Terms
The Practice reserves the right to:
• modify membership structure, pricing, or benefits
• introduce or withdraw membership tiers
Patients will receive at least 30 days’ notice of material changes.
Continued membership after notification constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Non-Commercial Use
Membership is intended solely for personal healthcare use.
It may not be used:
• for commercial purposes
• for third-party benefit (unless explicitly agreed, e.g. corporate schemes)
• in connection with medico-legal or insurance-driven reporting unless specified
